Michael Erlhoff
The German design theorist, art theorist and author was the founding dean of the Cologne International School of Design in 1991 where he was a professor until 2013. From 1987 to 1990, Erlhoff was the Managing Director of the German Design Council. From 2002 to 2006 he was the head of department of cultural sciences at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences and in 1997 visiting professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Erlhoff wrote a critical contribution about the Bröhan Collection for the website Stylepark at the end of 2011 and in it indicated that the purchased collection is presented as more valuable than it actually is for various reasons. He was among the first German experts who saw the collection within the framework of a conference on site in Hangzhou.
